Description
Bone meal is a wonderful food for bulbs and flowers. Our Happy Frog® Steamed Bone Meal is fine-screened and designed to provide phosphorus necessary for all stages of plant growth and flowering. Bone meal also contains calcium which helps support strong cellular development in plants. How to Use
New Container Plants:
Add 2 tablespoons of Happy Frog® Steamed Bone Meal Fertilizer per gallon of soil. Fill container with mixture and set plant at appropriate height. Tamp soil gently to secure plant and water thoroughly. Begin a regular feeding schedule in three weeks with a blended Happy Frog® fertilizer specifically formulated for your plant’s needs.
New In-Ground Plantings:
Dig a hole 2-3 times larger than the root ball. Mix 2 parts of your preferred FoxFarm soil conditioner with one part native soil. Add 1/2 cup of Happy Frog® Steamed Bone Meal Fertilizer per 5 gallons of soil mixture. Fill hole while setting plant at correct height. Tamp soil gently to secure plant and water thoroughly. Begin a regular feeding schedule in three weeks with a blended Happy Frog® fertilizer specifically formulated for your plant’s needs.

Feed by top-dressing in early spring and once again at first signs of bud development. Lightly scratch into the top one inch of soil and water thoroughly.

Till in a 3-6″ layer of your preferred FoxFarm soil conditioner to a depth of 8-12 inches. Add 1 cup Happy Frog® Steamed Bone Meal Fertilizer per 10 square feet of planting area and mix thoroughly. Set plants at correct height and water thoroughly. Begin a regular feeding schedule in three weeks with a blended Happy Frog® fertilizer specifically formulated for your plant’s needs.
Established Row Plantings:
- Apply 2 cups per ten square feet of plating area.
- Feed by top-dressing in early spring and once again at first signs of bud development. Lightly scratch into the top one inch of soil and water thoroughly.
